I believe that democracy works best when there is a lot of competition, however if nobody else runs then nothing can be done. Although this could easily lead to a dictatorship, it is the only option.

the new candidate will have more time to fit in wit the public and will have to really get on the peoples good side
@9M29CK32wks2W
It isn't a democracy then because there was no one else to vote for and the people did not have a choice.
@9M299CY2wks2W
If a candidate is running without any competition than it is no longer a democracy as no other values or ideas can be pushed
@9M296KH2wks2W
I think there should always be more than one option.
@9M28WC8Republican2wks2W
A candidate should have competition. Unless the democratic decision is unanimous.
@9M2GRND2wks2W
There's no point in asking us to vote if there are no options. I just want someone best fitted for the job.
@9M28JYZ2wks2W
People put full trust in the face value of a person, who could potentially run the country. People think that others aren't a bad person because they say they aren't and put on a show to gain their trust.

Another person could be better for the job then the person selected to do the job. Having competition also makes it fair for those who want to do the job/voters.
@9M2BD8N2wks2W
everyone should get the right to win even if they do not have any competition they should be running against someone.
@9M29LKQ2wks2W
Former president Trump and his team deny any and all allegations of him being a bad person and some people just believe it. Even when you do show proof they call it fake news, etc. The democratic side does this just as much, but it is predominantly the Republican side.

I would feel like it’s a unfair run for office, and would actually go against democracy
