Majority of Americans Now Support Mass Deportations

Half of Americans — including 42% of Democrats — say they'd support mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, according to a new Axios Vibes survey by The Harris Poll.

30% of Democrats — as well as 46% of Republicans — now say they'd end birthright citizenship, something guaranteed under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.

Americans are open to former President Trump's harshest immigration plans, spurred on by a record surge of illegal border crossings and a relentless messaging war waged by Republicans.

President Biden is keenly aware the crisis…  Read more

You mean, open to trump lies

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington disagreed…1wk1W

Advocating for a policy you happen to disagree with doesn't make it a "lie" – it makes it something you disagree with. So drop the logical fallacies and tell me why exactly you want to continue to allow our country to be invaded by criminal aliens. Can you do that for me?

 @DearL0bby1stRepublican from Texas disagreed…1wk1W

The lie was this Administration pretending there wasn't a problem for 3 and half years.

 @KeenEqu4lityDemocratfrom North Carolina commented…1wk1W

Can we trust Trump to actually follow through? I mean he deported less people than Obama.

I guarantee he will be better than Biden on the issue.

PS: the primary wasn't competitive.

What wrong with GEN Z and Millenials? Illegal immigration is the biggest threat to the young generations! They will be the ones suffering the consequences for decades.

What impact do you think mass deportations would have on communities and the country's economy?

Biden and 17 world leaders call on Hamas to release the hostages

President Biden and the leaders of 17 countries whose citizens were abducted by Hamas issued a joint statement Thursday calling on the group to accept a hostage deal currently on the table that would lead to a ceasefire in Gaza.

This is the most significant joint statement the international community has published since Oct. 7 pressuring Hamas to release the hostages.

The statement was signed by Biden and the leaders of Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

What are your thoughts on the balance between negotiation and taking a strong stand in hostage situations?

 @9LV5RDYRepublican  from California answered…1wk1W

Finding the balance between negotiation and taking a strong stand in hostage situations is incredibly delicate and depends on various factors such as the nature of the hostage-taker, the demands made, the safety of the hostages, and the resources available to law enforcement.

Negotiation is often the first approach in hostage situations as it aims to establish communication, build rapport, and hopefully persuade the hostage-taker to release the hostages peacefully. Skilled negotiators can buy time, gather intelligence, and potentially de-escalate the situation without resorting to force.

negotiation comes first but if the terrorist don't agree taking a strong stand is necessary.

 @9LTRJXGRepublican from Pennsylvania answered…1wk1W

i think a strong stand would be best. america has a very strong military and could take hamas and free the hostages

 @9LTSNXM from Texas answered…1wk1W

it shouldn't take all 17 world leaders to decide whether a terrorist group should release innocent victims

After seven months of demanding Israel stop fighting back and give in to Hamas' demands, the west finally gets around to oh yeah quick thing please release the hostages Hamas.

Over 200 days - American citizens have been held hostage by a designated FTO and here we have … another statement. Get our people OUT. Stop pandering to islamists for votes. This administration has catastrophically failed us.

Ukraine has only six months left

The new aid packages will not enable Ukraine to seize the initiative and go back onto the offensive. One reason for this is that Russia has achieved air supremacy in many areas while ground based air defences will remain inadequate. Another is that a war-weary Ukraine simply doesn’t have enough troops and after more than two years hard fighting seems reluctant to launch the major mobilisation it needs.

Russia has a rapidly growing wartime economy and has now built up huge force levels that it is willing to sacrifice to achieve Putin’s goals. If Moscow is able to achieve significant…  Read more

How do you think history will judge the actions of allies who hesitated or refused to fully support a country in need?

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington answered…1wk1W

I think history will be kind to those who didn't want to send 234 Billion dollars to an authoritarian regime to fund killing and senseless massacre while our own nation is nearly bankrupt. I think history will not e kind to those who chose to bankrupt our nation for the sake of Dictator Zelensky and his minions.

 @9LTHBDRfrom Pennsylvania answered…1wk1W

I think we have helped more than any other country, we need to slash spending and them make other country's pay the same as us

 @9LTGZF3Republican from Texas answered…1wk1W

Countries who support those countries might judge them and not help when they are in need.

 @9LTGSMK from North Carolina answered…1wk1W

they will say that we didn’t help them and that we’re not real allies if we won’t help them

 @ISIDEWITHasked…1wk1W

Considering the sacrifices made in war, what do you believe is worth fighting for, even against overwhelming odds?

 @9LTJV68 from Missouri answered…1wk1W

I believe that it is worth fighting for because they should not just give up their land.

 @9LTJNWBRepublican from Pennsylvania answered…1wk1W

No because Russia is gonna win because there bigger and more powerful sorry.

 @9LTSBWL from South Carolina disagreed…1wk1W

Ukraine, being backed up by ally sources, I.e. their sources of weapons, medical aid, etc, will win this war eventually. If played well enough, Ukraine will push Russia's forces out of their hotspots around 2025-2026 at the earliest.

 @9LTJ6BS from Michigan answered…1wk1W

 @KingdomJerkyRepublicanfrom Illinois commented…1wk1W

To make sure we have 6 months of additional preparation time before, you know, we have to go in.

Also 6 months translates to a lot of dead russians, with literally 0 of our own dead.

I would demand what Ukrainians ought to have demanded months ago – a peace deal with Russia. Surrender disputed territories so your country can survive.

Europeans ‘less hard-working’ than Americans, says Norway oil fund boss

Nicolai Tangen, chief executive of the $1.6tn fund, told the Financial Times it was “worrisome” that American companies were outpacing their European rivals on innovation and technology, leading to vast outperformance of US shares in the past decade.

“There’s a mindset issue in terms of acceptance of mistakes and risks. You go bust in America, you get another chance. In Europe, you’re dead,” he said, adding that there was also a difference in “the general level of ambition. We are not very ambitious. I should be careful about talking about work-life…  Read more

Bring on your US (please, find a proper name for your country, America is a continent) or Brit poor anytime.

I'm poor, even very poor (less than 20k euro a year for two people) for northern europe standards, but ...I have managed two months off work during winter for the last 25 years, yes, I love the warm sunlight! We also take one week here and there for our breaks in europe:

When I need medical assistance, I have to spit up nothing or very little for it.

On the other hand I have no house (rented apartment), kids (chacun son chat) or a car: When really needed I rent one.

Of course I can´t frequent or buy the things you might do, but I can tell you I enjoy every bit of my coffees, chocolates, cheeses, pastas, things that an average US person does not know exists.

Kind regards from communist europe.

 @Mandat3UrchinRepublican from Montana commented…1wk1W

Actually the US ranked 15th in happiness globally ahead of the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy etc. It is great people in Finland are happy but they aren’t a great comparison to a wildly diverse country of 342m people and their suicide rate is super high. This is cope.

  @Patriot-#1776Constitution from Washington commented…1wk1W

It says you're from Kansas. So I've got to ask, European – if you're so poor, how'd you finance a vacation to Kansas? And why Kansas?
