None of these are good responses as they all lack the understanding that Israel is actively committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Hamas is a "terrorist" organization, yes, but that's because Palestinians have been subjected to discrimination for decades from Israel. Israel has killed many more innocent people than Hamas has kidnapped. I agree with Sanders. Israel has enough money. (Plus, thinking that pro-Palestinians are antisemite is so wrong, no we just don't want to be complicit in an active genocide.)

All the universities in the world and all the powerful can do all they want to try to stop people from "speaking up" about this horrible terror being perpetrated in Gaza (and the West Bank).
Future historians will view those on the side of Israel's terribleland grabs in Gaza and the West Bank as collaborators who not only permitted the murder of tens of thousands of children and women but provided the weapons for the killing and destruction.
Unlike student protests against the Vietnam war in the 60s, the US isn’t at war in Gaza and Jewish Americans are not a party to this either.
So what exactly do these protestors believe they can accomplish by shutting down campus activities? Do they think that if they only protested hard enough Bibi Netanyahu would realize the errors of his ways and end the Gaza campaign?

These protests are moving beyond demonstrations. When protestors are confronting staff in university offices while fully masked and unidentifiable as students (as has happened at my school), that is no longer student activism and free speech, but harassment and intimidation.

I agree the masks should come off. Unfortunately, adults know the outside (ie Bill Ackman) have put fear of identity into the equation with doxxing and threat to future employment for protesting oppression.
It does not seem to me that protesters are open to negotiate and to dialogue. If they want to protest, do so outside the campuses, and let other students and professors finish their works of the semester.
I wonder how many of these students are divesting their own trust funds. That would be a good start, not to mentions that many got into these Ivy Leagues only because of dad’s contributions to the endowment. Why not protest dad instead and let the serious students study in peace?

Most university students take on expensive college loans to make it through. Painting Gen Z as if they're all trust-fund babies is in poor taste. Additionally, kicking out all the trouble-makers seems like you only value "smart" kids who never rock the boat.

There is no democracy in this country. Our government and politicians fund wars to kill and destroy for the benefit of this nations' billionaires at the expense of the rest of us.
One of the main things that's changed is that it's now become acceptable, even fashionable, for supporters, allies and spokespeople of our country's most dangerous enemies claim that their views are pro-America while undermining our democracy.
There was a time when being against our Constitution and against honest governing was not a point of pride. Now that's gone mainstream.
The populists in the US kept them out of WWII for the first two years - leaving the fighting to be done by Europeans and the British Commonwealth (Canada, Australia, etc.). Let's hope if things go completely sideways this time, the US won't sit idly by because of the authoritarian, Putin-apologist, populists of today.
You don't have to be "pro Palestinian" to be against the murder of Palestinian civilians. The fight between Arabs and Israelis has been going on for over 60 years and will continue for who knows how many more years. But there should be an agreement to avoid inhumane actions. There is not on either side. So the rest of the world is forced to watch. Netanyahu is a large part of he problem but even without him, there doesn't seem to be a solution. For a long time now it’s been a mechanism to transfer money from citizens to high technology industry.
And nobody blinks an eye.
The trillion-dollar budget to help people survive during COVID was considered as massive excessive spending that added to supply side inflation. Explain to me how this won't add to inflation, the budget deficit and isn't excessive. It took months to get COVID relief with much debate, but this goes through with none. Internal social issues with people struggling with internal social issues shouldn't be the governments concern. Education, and healthcare. But poverty is always a choice determined by the person and their dedication and responsibilities. If we teach better responsibility and work ethic in schools, less would need to go on welfare, less would be clueless to the real world.
