Zelensky has, so far, been unable to institutionalize needed measures like reducing pensions, cutting benefits to wealthy Ukrainians, or reducing the draft age to 18. $60 billion is not going to be nearly enough to defeat Russia, which has now fully moved to a wartime economy and is growing faster than developed western economies, and outproducing us in tanks and shells. This is not about stopping Russia. It is about postponing the inevitable Ukrainian collapse until after November.
And if thousands more Ukrainians die in the meantime? Well, that is just the cost of getting Biden re-elected. No biggie.
