How would your personal goals align or conflict within a society influenced by a dominant religious ideology?

I believe that society should be open to all religions allowing every individual to practice their own beliefs and not be forced by a dominant religious ideology thus the topic of nationalist Islamism goes against my personal values.

It depends on the religion and the nation. If I was born in Iran and raised Muslim, I would see by society be heavily influenced and shaped by Sharia Law. But in the United States where we allow freedom of worship, we also have to recognize that our nation was shaped around a Christian idealogue, and those who conform and understand that have usually had the biggest impact in shaping our nation.
