Should the federal government increase funding of health care for low income individuals (Medicaid)?
Since the Federal Government funds Medicaid via taxes collected from individuals and corporations, they should increase funding toward health care, especially for those from low income households, and to cut funding for discretionary sectors. And for the states, they are not obligated to increase funding in their own health care insurances, hence the Tenth Amendment. In conclusion, the Federal Government can change spending in their revenue and to increase funding on Medicaid but, the institution has limited power to oblige the states into opting in to expand spending on health care for the unfortunate.
