Be present in the US.
Have lived in the US continuously since their birth.
Up until the age of 18, children have rights as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights
of the Child. Children of illegal immigrants should be granted temporary amnesty if under 18 years of age:
Have lived in the US for at least 7 years immediately prior to applying for citizenship.
Demonstrate that it would be unreasonable to expect them to leave the US.
Meet the continuous residence requirements (i.e., not been outside the US for 6 months or more in any year).
If aged between 18 and 24 years:
Have resided continuously here for more than half of their life.
If aged between 18 and 64 years:
Are between 18 and 24 and have resided continuously here for more than half of their life
Pass the Life in the UK test
Meet the English language requirements – i.e., hold an English language qualification or have a degree taught or researched in English.
They may at any time automatically become a citizen if one of their parents has become a citizen or received permission to remain indefinitely since their birth.
