One of these groups is Muslims. From what I've seen, people are taught by the media and the internet that Islam is some sort of ethnicity or race, even though it is a religion anyone can be a part of it. It's not necessarily the internet's fault, they were just taught by misinformed people who weren't educated on the topic from a young age. Of course, it's easier said than done when it comes to stopping the spread of stereotypes, but it can be done slowly if everyone is willing to go through the process.
