Yes, however I would like to see a redefinition and scrutiny to be applied to "public purpose." Certain "public purposes" have been used improperly in my opinion. For example, the elimination of "blight" is deemed a public purpose. What is "blight?" Unfortunately, this "public purpose" was heavily used to displace black households (i.e. "blight") in the 50s/60s/70s to create highways to cut through big cities for the development and creation of suburbs. Highway 71 in Kansas City, Missouri is a great example. This is wrong and should not be a use for eminent domain.
