Choosing to ignore that racism happens in school won't get rid of the racism outside of school. It would only create more ignorance. By teaching children the things that have happened in history, you are validating the people affected and showing others that it isn't okay to be prejudiced.

I agree with this person. We need to teach children about the history of racism in the United States (but make it as basic and as un-scary as possible until students are mature enough to handle the truth).
