Plus, if employees are required to pay more, they will more than likely dismiss some employees while simultaneously raising prices. With minimum wage increased, professional salaries will also need to rise to prevent lessor-skilled employees from earning as much as higher-skilled employees. For example, security guards are important, but their training and requirements are less than that of police officers. However, if the security officers are paid more, law enforcement officers will also need to be paid more. The end result is the increased wages will not increase spending power much over the long-term. I really wish we could increase wages to offer livable-wages for all wage earners
