What role do you think religion should play in education, and why?

 @9KN99XB from Nebraska answered…2mos2MO

I think that it is ok to let religion play a role in schools

 @9KTP7GT from New York disagreed…2mos2MO

If you're going to a public school religion shouldn't play a role in your education because it's so hard to practice every single religion those children in the schools practice. You can't force everyone to follow one religion if some people don't choose to practice that religion outside of school.

 @9KTP6F5Democrat from Minnesota agreed…2mos2MO

I think that religion should play a role in schools, but include all major religions for diversity and inclusion.

 @9KTP5ZN from MP disagreed…2mos2MO

I think it should not play a role in education at all. School is for learning about commonly agreed on facts, which cannot be debated. Religion is something that not everyone agrees on or believes in, and cannot be solidly proven. Therefore it doesn't have a place in schools.

 @9KVXYWG from Massachusetts disagreed…2mos2MO

We are a secular country and religion should only be taught in the context of comparative education.

 @9KMCDR5from Montana answered…2mos2MO

Absolutely none. I don’t want kids indoctrinated into those morons’ insane Jesus cult.

 @9KTLCTR from New Hampshire disagreed…2mos2MO

I think allowing room for other people's beliefs and point of view is important to increase understanding for everyone.

 @9KT9JGC from Colorado disagreed…2mos2MO

There is absolutely no hope for you if you don’t know Jesus. Life on earth is temporary with him though it is eternal. I am and will always be a Christian.

 @9KT9FHN from North Carolina disagreed…2mos2MO

It is important for children to have a basic understanding of religion. It doesn’t have to just be Christianity and there is no reason to exclude other religions but children should be given a basic overview with no bias even as simply as in a history unit

 @9KTB947Republican from Virginia disagreed…2mos2MO

Wanting the separation of church and state is fine, but putting down others' beliefs is not acceptable.

 @9KMBC6Y from Minnesota answered…2mos2MO

Children should be taught some Christianity in schools,

 @9KTFGRZ  from Florida agreed…2mos2MO

All children should be taught about different religions in school to learn about different cultures, which includes Christianity.

 @9KN6JTSProgressive  from Arizona disagreed…2mos2MO

There is no benefit to learning Christianity in schools and it has no impact on learning the subjects children need to learn

 @9KNGFYG from Ohio disagreed…2mos2MO

If you want your child taught your religion that should happen under your own roof. Your religion is your right but my religion is mine. Keep all religion out of schools, but I think knowing about world religions should be an endeavour a student can take like art, music, foreign language, etc. requirements in education should be objective i.e. math science and English maybe history.

 @9KNDPJF from Nebraska disagreed…2mos2MO

It would be unconstitutional because of the separation between church and state. If parents want their kids to receive a Christian education they should go to private school

 @9KR78CR from Pennsylvania answered…2mos2MO

I think religion should help to be a moral compass for our students only.

 @9KXW8N3 from Missouri disagreed…2mos2MO

I think that religion shouldn't play a role in education. If one wants to learn more of roles of religions, there should be religion related schools or things such as church.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

How might a commitment to religious teachings impact your views on environmental responsibility?

 @9KFRM95  from Ohio answered…2mos2MO

I am a follower of Christ so I see the world as another of God's beautiful creations that we should strive to protect and prevent ourselves from polluting. I think we can use religious teachings to help people understand that even though the world has resources for us to use, we have to protect the our world and environment from corrupt practices. Also feel free to eat veggies or meat, both are intended for humans consumption.

 @9KHDPCC from Florida agreed…2mos2MO

We should keep our world clean from pollution and changes we don't want to see to the beautiful creations God has made for us.

 @9K8YMWR from Ohio commented…2mos2MO

It shouldn’t because while I may have spiritual beliefs, science is completely separate is proven by fact and logical reasoning while my religion is what I believe without having direct proof.

 @9K8YLYC from California commented…2mos2MO

I'm no longer religious, but when I was I wasn't as concerned about environmental responsibility as I believed that the world was coming to an end, thus it wasn't important.

 @9KFQMPKRepublicananswered…2mos2MO

It would make the receiver think that they do not need to worry about climate change.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

In what ways do you believe that a younger generation can reinterpret religious traditions to address contemporary issues?

 @9JKTSQV from Georgia answered…3mos3MO

I belive that everyone should have the oppertunity to read and learn about our savior

 @9JL299JDemocrat from California disagreed…3mos3MO

I don't think religion should be apart of the government because everyone has different beliefs. You can research and believe in what ever religion you want but i don't think its an important issue.

 @9JKTNM8 from Minnesota answered…3mos3MO

by bring people that are alike and making a tight group of people just like west union MN small but everyone gets along with some another

 @9JKTGHF from Tennessee answered…3mos3MO

Religion can give people hope and solace in their lives, but it should not be a part of government.

 @9JKTTBSPeace and Freedom from Connecticut answered…3mos3MO

This would be of value if the communities understood there is a such rule as the first amendment states no value of religion.

 @9JKTCRGProgressive from Minnesota answered…3mos3MO

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Have you witnessed a scenario where religious dialogue opened up perspectives or resolved conflicts?

 @9JKVQK6 from Washington answered…3mos3MO

No, i've witnessed scenarios where religious dialogue has STARTED conflict, but definitely not resolved it.

 @9JLRYMX from Maryland agreed…3mos3MO

majority of the religious argument under Christianity usually leads to quoting the bible about something, and how that needs to be followed, but there are millions of things that clearly aren't followed by Christians like in the same verse that Christians against males wearing female garment and vice versa, the bible says to have a tassel on the corners of your garment. there are hundreds of examples of how ludicrous these arguments are, yet I have to go out of my way to research this stuff and Christians will make up stuff

 @9JKVJZL from Texas answered…3mos3MO

 @9JKV7WXanswered…3mos3MO

No, religion is one's personal belief and should not be used to win arguments

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

In what way does your faith shape your perspectives on leadership and authority, either in religious or secular contexts?

 @9L57Z4V from Louisiana answered…1mo1MO

 @9L57X4R from Iowa answered…1mo1MO

I don't have a religion, but I think evangelicals are good i just don't think we should bring religion into the government

 @9L57H2Janswered…1mo1MO

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

How have you seen faith motivate individuals or groups to initiate change in social or environmental causes?

 @9JKVJZL from Texas answered…3mos3MO

I've seen it create a rise in tension and anger. I've also seen it destroy relationships because faith is more of an opinion than a fact.

 @9JKVB5VDemocrat from Texas answered…3mos3MO

Many churches stand up for what they believe is right, even tho we are supposed to separate church and state.
