Prosecutors load on additional criminal accusations, and sometimes laws aren't clearly written or understood by the general public. Where possible, this activity needs to be limited, and people need to offered options to rehabilitate themselves.

Prisons have replaced our mental healthcare system as the option of last resort for treating the mentally ill--and they're doing the best they can, but it's a horrible way to treat people who are sick. We need to restore our mental healthcare system and get the mentally ill proper treatment instead of misusing our prisons in this way.
3.We also need to rehabilitate our society and simplify our legal code where possible so that it's easier for people to understand and obey it, and so that only those people wind up in prison who really belong there.
