How would you balance compassion and practicality when crafting laws that affect vulnerable populations?

 @9JGXNNF from Ohio answered…4mos4MO

I think that we should not use this because we should be able to choose what we want based on popular majority

 @9JH2ZQ4answered…4mos4MO

No one person can force their religion onto others. What you believe may not be what someone else believes, therefore your laws have to be fair and by the constitution. No one person can please all, but there is a clear distinction in a law that favors one side or the other.

The seperation of church and state have been a cornerstone for the american people since the begining of the country. In the beggining the founding fathers kept them seperate but used christianity to guide their Ideals and this worked for a long time. With the introduction of Atheism this values have declined along with other things in the country getting better. The combination of running a christian country using atheism values will not work. The combination of running a atheist country using christian values will not work. The country needs to be guided as an Atheist group or as a Christian group but leading them as both is deystroying the country.

Can Christian Democracy reconcile its conservative moral stances with progressive social justice goals?

 @9H4Z8DD from Texas answered…6mos6MO

Religious groups have allows been able to make slight adjustment to their believes to allow progression with the times to fit with their religious groups. Thus Christian Democracy can reconcile with progressive social justice.

 @9H4ZSGL from Maryland answered…6mos6MO

No, conservative values cannot reconcile with progressive values. The morally superior values are progressive ones which seek to improve the current status of the world. Religious texts cannot be the basis of governance as they can be interpreted by members of the same faith differently. In addition, it is impossible to logically choose one religious interpretation to follow. There is no logical case for the Torah vs the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible vs the Quran, etc.

 @9H4ZNYHProgressivefrom Maine answered…6mos6MO

no, christianity does not have conservative moral values. Jesus was a social activist. the people who believe are the people who take the bible literally which they should not because it it not the word of God yet Jesus' deciples. the conservative teachings the we should "leave each other alone" is not a Christian belief. Christianity teaches about community.

What does the term 'ethical governance' mean to you, and how can it be applied in everyday leadership?

 @9HTG5D9from Guam answered…4mos4MO

 @9HTFWHX from Michigan answered…4mos4MO

I believe that the government shouldn’t be able to decide what’s moral and what’s not, but rather have that jurisdiction up to fields within the country, such as doctors being able to be for abortion from a strictly medical standpoint.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…6mos6MO

Do you think incorporating Christian ethics into politics compromises or upholds the separation of church and state?

 @9HCVVFF from Texas answered…6mos6MO

It does nither, the vast majority of our laws are based off of Christian values; whether or not you call it Christian democracy.

How does your personal definition of what it means to be a good citizen influence your political opinions?

 @9JHF3MNLibertarian from Arizona answered…4mos4MO

 @9JHDXBD from Tennessee answered…4mos4MO

Well I was raised one way, so I don't really know how to think other ways.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

What action can we take as individuals when we see social inequalities in our daily environments?

 @9L8P6WV from Florida answered…1mo1MO

The idea of a christian democracy is a social inequality in and of itself. Many people practice many different religions. To enforce christian ideologies, in which most of them aren't related to modern times or even well-being isn't a good idea. We should always advocate for each other's individuality, because that's where all human rights stem from.

 @9L8JL66 from Minnesota answered…1mo1MO

Acknowledge that Christian Democracy is a real problem and listen to other people's voices, especially of those who have experienced social inequalities.
