Yes

 @9FP4ZBXWorkers  from California agreed…6mos6MO

It is getting harder to find parts, and other places are modernizing their jets while we are using 50 year old jets.

 @9FPR5VBRepublican  from Virginia disagreed…6mos6MO

The president has plenty of security and before we expand that, we must grapple with our national deficit. As long as it is cheaper to replace parts, we should not replace the entire plane.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

No, not until the cost ($4B) is dramatically reduced

 @9FP4ZBXWorkers  from California disagreed…6mos6MO

The need to build new fighter jets, As the are becoming over 50 years old and oarts are getting hard to find.

 @9FPVPR5 from Oklahoma agreed…6mos6MO

I think with the advancement in technology, 50 years old jets needs to be modernized to be effective and efficient to meet the sophistications of the global modern developments.

 @9FPVPR5 from Oklahoma agreed…6mos6MO

Air Force One needs to be upgraded since a 50 year old technology may seem too old to function to meet the sophistication of modern technology.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

No, the current fleet is sufficient

 @9FYPS5XTranshumanist from Georgia disagreed…6mos6MO

There is always room for improvement. No creation by man is perfect, and we must consistently innovate and advance what we have.

 @8D7X8VBNew Liberty from Pennsylvania answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, after a cost analysis that reveals it is less costly to produce new planes than maintaining the old planes.

Yes, other countries are trying to take us over every day, and you don't learn that unless you work in security. We need to stay ahead of our enemies.

Yes, but give a forewarning a year or two in advance so citizens are prepared somewhat.

 @8WJLFMT from Michigan answered…2yrs2Y

No, make sure all necessary equipment that is needed is provided, but some of the cost that put us in debt needs to be made up. If there is an emergency though we should upgrade to ensure we have all the newest technology and best things to use.

 @8W467D2 from Florida answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, it is very old and the president needs a safe place to fly and it probably costs more money to maintain it then to get a new one.

 @8VJZD8Y from Georgia answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but the $4 billion should come out of the military budget. Citizens should not have to pay the cost or the full cost of an aircraft that is not benefiting the people.

 @8FNMW6N from Kansas answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, if the military officials believe the current fleet has outlived its useful life. The process should be competitively bid and overseen by the military with an independent but confidential oversight committee with expertise in aviation, security and technology.

 @8F2XPXP from California answered…4yrs4Y

They should upgrade it as necessary to remain the most technologically advanced and modern plane to protect the president should that be necessary.

I think they should upgrade it for the highest technology when it comes out, but I don't think they should spend money on pointless things for it, when there are many other things that need financial support in the US.

Though a plane that old will be unsafe and hard to find parts for, many taxpayers will have trouble getting the money. If we raise the rates of taxes for those with a higher income while lowering those who have lower income, it should be okay.

 @9KYHKDF from Arizona answered…1wk1W

It can be upgraded via taxes of entities that make above $500 million. It's an example number, but basically ONLY using the funds collected through those taxes. $0 from literally anywhere else. No donations or loopholes. They pay their taxes and percentage of THAT is what the budget can be.

 @9KTQ32SIndependent from New Jersey answered…2wks2W

Only if there is substantial evidence that there is a design flaw, manufacturing defect, or mechanical defect which would cost more than the original price when first manufactured.

 @9KK5F3T from Georgia answered…3wks3W

I feel sure that the cost of manufacturing the needed 'spare parts' will be considerable less than the cost of two new planes. For a long time.

 @9KJCKDNSocialist from Texas answered…3wks3W

I am indifferent about this (unless upgrading it takes away from social services programs like most military spending does).

 @9KHD9C8 from Idaho answered…4wks4W

Yes, by clawing back the money from Ukraine and all the other countries where money is being wasted.

 @9KH9SVJDemocrat from California answered…4wks4W

Yes, when we are able to build aircraft that run on renewable energy sources, such as electric engines.

 @9KH7ZYHfrom Montana answered…4wks4W

Air force one is an expensive pathetic waste of money and the current fleet is okay. We can't afford to upgrade something so lavish now.

 @9KC7KKX from California answered…4wks4W

No, unless they tested Boeing as the most reliable and reliable enough for long-term war. They should also consider economic constraints and change manufacturers when another works better or the current models are not effective.

Yes and No, the Nike and other apparel company should collaborate with the any government to make official military grade merchandise and clothes.

 @9JW7FWMfrom Guam answered…1mo1MO

no ban it and use another, more reliable company as the recent incidents with Boeings have caused concern.

 @9JSH3QT from Utah answered…2mos2MO

I dont have much info on the state of air force one or why it should, Is there issues? is it not safe enough to protect president?

 @9JRWMGH from Oregon answered…2mos2MO

I think there needs to be upgrades. We need them when we need them, we don't need to start building them when we might need them. we need them ready, however they could cut down on costs and get rid of older out dated planes

 @9JK5R7T from Colorado answered…2mos2MO

No because the president/ government has spent to much money in the Air Force or the military so that money can go to other things to help grow the country

 @9JHC36G from Texas answered…2mos2MO

The planes should be upgraded for safety, but the upgrades should budgeted better than the usual out of control government spending.

 @9JC633B from Florida answered…2mos2MO

Air Force one is a technological marvel, it should be kept up to the highest standard, it should only be upgraded if it is in serious need of overhaul. The taxpayers have not been receiving a good return on investment with federal government expenditures the last 30 years.
