“Economists and medical professionals have repeatedly reported that while the U.S. healthcare system is comparable in quality to other industrialized nations, we are not getting more for the money we pay. Additionally, we have reduced access. In a nutshell, we are one of the only (if not the only) industrialized nation(s) to not provide universal healthcare, yet we are on average 2-3 times more expensive. The closest nation by expenditures per capita is Norway, at 2/3 of our cost (and again, a universal provider).

I love the idea of Obamacare, but is inherently flawed. We need a universal healthcare system, but this is not it.

by the way: the idea of a federally managed healthcare system has been around since the 1960s (V. Fuchs).”
