Question 3 would give Nevada consumers the right to choose their energy provider and re-sell any energy they generate themselves (through solar etc.). It would remove The Nevada Public Utilities Commission who currently determines utility prices. Proponents (including Senaotr Haryr Reid and Elon Musk) argue that the current energy market is a rigged monopoly and energy will be much cheaper if it is provided on an open market. Opponents (including the AFL-CIO) argue that the proposition will open the energy market to abuse from private businesses and cause prices to fluctuate.
