when my town/community holds fun events everyone goes and catches up and bonds with familiar and new people

When people do things together, they experience things together making it a shared experience for all. You get to share memories with a new person and even meet new people. Then you can give commentary and they could or could not relate to you from that.

I felt much more connected with the community down in Lake of the Ozarks back then because of how friendly the people are there, it really makes you feel like you're a part of something bigger when you can actually get to know all your neighbors unlike here in KC.
