A greater emphasis on self reliance could conceivably have both positive and negative effects on education. On the one hand, being able to rely on your own skills is undeniably a good thing, but on the other hand, describing oneself as a classical liberal in the modern day is essentially just a dogwhistle for saying anarcho capitalist.
