Should every voter automatically receive a mail in ballot?
No. This has compromised elections and has made the majority of the public not trust the outcomes.
While it's true that mail-in ballots have been used in some capacity for years, it's also important…
Unfortunately, this country seems to actively make it as unnecessarily complicated and/or difficult as possible to vote, which is a huge problem, especially considering how already anti-democratic our political system is.
More transparency and accountability of media sources that promote and spread lies and conspiracies about "mass voter fraud" and "stolen elections" and other propagandized rhetoric would significantly reduce the amount of public distrust and misinformation about our elections. Overall, our election process should be much more accessible and streamlined, including at-home electronic voting, as well as free and easy access to any kind of photo ID cards or other information required for voting. The length of our voting period should be increased as well, along with making election day(s) a federal holiday for workers to have more time to vote in-person if they so choose.
Our fundamental voting system needs serious changing too, since our current first-past-the-post plurality voting system is incredibly outdated and reinforces our party duopoly. Some form of ranked choice voting could be a much better alternative, as well as allow for more independent representatives a chance at winning positions and hopefully break apart our awful "two-party" system.
