You believe in a political system that promotes the common good, individual rights, and representative democracy through elected officials.
Republicanism is a political ideology that emphasizes the values of liberty, civic virtue, and opposition to corruption. It is centered around the concept of a republic, a form of government in which power resides in the people and their elected representatives, rather than in a monarch or dictator. Republicanism is often associated with the rule of law, the separation of powers, and a system of checks and balances, all of which are designed to prevent the abuse of power.
The roots of republicanism can be traced back to ancient Rome, where the Roman Republic served as an early model…

How do you balance your personal entertainment time online with staying informed about current events?
@9KYRPN82mos2MO
At least once a week I will read several articles regarding the current events
If I’m curious I look up what I might be interested in
@9KYSFC7 2mos2MO
I will use the internet to focus on the enviroment issues and focus on different things to focus on.
@9KYRXDLRepublican2mos2MO
It is good to have a laugh while still staying informed on what the government is doing. Having something to laugh at while being informed is important to me.

What's a time you've had to compromise with friends or family, and how did it make you feel?
@9KYRKYQ2mos2MO
I have faught with my steps moms family many times because of their loving trump, and I tried to be understanding, I wouldn't say it was fighting but they weren't saying the whole truth in a factrul way, I felt great after for knowing what I know and able to try to understand the other side but knowing that I was the most correct with the full truth on every closing sentence, It kinda made me mad on how stupid some people are and close-minded they are.
@9L4J6942mos2MO
You don’t want to believe what we know and what is why you won’t learn anything new. Or be open minded to other options.
@9KYRB8H2mos2MO
I´ve had to compromise my strong belief of pro life when the topic is about rape, because that is not a choice.
@9KYRDWT2mos2MO
I have to compromise with having a sibling all the time and sometimes i feel its the best to handle a situation but other times i feel like it is not fair.

My best friend is on the apposing presidental side as me, but we do not mention it around each other

If you could create a school rule that everyone had to follow, what would it be and why?
@9L2JJBW2mos2MO
All teachers need to provide the reading material for students. I feel like teachers can teach what they believe if they know the material.
@9L2JHRJ2mos2MO
Antaginizing someone to violence gets you a greater punishment because too many people feel free to say mean things to other people.
@9L2K3V9Independent 2mos2MO
I wouldn't necessarily "create" a school rule, but rather get rid of one. The rule I would get rid of is the dress code. The way a student dresses does not affect their education in any way. Nor is it distracting to other students most of the time. Most of the time the only person, and or people worried about what a student wears are the adults that are employed by the school. Another thing about the dress code is, that it Its unstable. The enforcers of this rule only apply it to certain students rather than to every student. Many developed students (Mainly women) aren't… Read more

How might community sports or team experiences translate into lessons for good governance?
@9KDZ9LX3mos3MO
I guess it would depend on each teammate's experience with the governance.

How often do you encounter situations requiring you to stand up for yourself or others, and how do you handle them?
In such situations, I would try to solve it by myself, and if it exceeds my level, then I would pass it to someone more apt than me, who is capable of handling the situation.
@9KZD6QV2mos2MO
i dont ever have to stand up for myself or others because nobody makes fun of other infront of them and nobody knows
@9KZCS9Z2mos2MO
In situations requiring me to stand up for myself, depending on the level of depth of the situation, to be safe I would personally try to deescalate the situation or walk away from it before it worsens. Next thing would be to talk things through, which most likely, taking todays societal people, will not work. Intimidation of simple negotations is the best bet.
@ISIDEWITH2mos2MO
Have you ever felt a rule at school was unfair, and what process did you follow to address it, if any?
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
What role do you believe education plays in promoting a sense of shared civic duty?
Education is very important, and people should be granted equal education
@9HW6P285mos5MO
Education teaches individuals to collaborate together, listen to various points of view
@9HX5ZMQ4mos4MO
Education teaches students to think and act a specific way. It doesn’t allow for much room to follow your interests from a young age and find like minded people and allow for significant growth. Education teaches students to listen to the teacher and the curriculums addenda rather than express themselves and their own view points.
@9HW6RK2Republican5mos5MO
Education is important to republicanism because we have to be a smart country to persevere over our adversaries.
@9HW6V5K 5mos5MO
A large portion of the Constitution that is overlooked today, is the civic duties of the American citizen. Although our Constitution extends and ensures rights and liberties, the constituents are expected to preserve the checks and balances of government. One such way is through the second amendment, using firearms to check the power of government, preventing another tyrannical ruler from holding government office.

How can elected representatives truly understand and represent the will of the people?
@9H8YZJ66mos6MO
Elected representatives should make decisions based on the people's vote. Asking the people themselves instead of trying to sell them their own ideal.
@9H8YMY66mos6MO
by maintaining more direct connections with the people they represent
@9H8Z39C6mos6MO
I would understand the republicanism is not just a crime but it's more effective to the people who have their own rights to justice in the U.S.
@9H8YJ5X6mos6MO
They can represent and truly understand if they came to an agreement.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How might encouraging empathy among citizens improve a republic's function?
@9HYBLFVPeace and Freedom4mos4MO
If citizens learn to empathize those in need, the republics function will of course work better.
@9HYG5WC4mos4MO
Encouraging empathy is a great thing to do, I feel like it will make a difference in whether people will decide to make that difference. Empathy is a good way into taking account how this might make people feel which is very important cause people's feelings matter.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
How does exposure to different cultures and opinions influence one's idea of effective governance?
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
How would you define 'the common good,' and do you think it's achievable through elected officials?
The common good is a state where all people are equally represented regardless of race, wealth, gender, sex, the like. In this state of the common good, we all look out for each other and for our planet at large. I personally think that this can be done through elected officials on paper, but not at all in practice. The problem is that the wealthy elites pay off both Democrats and Republicans to serve their interests.
@9H98XNB6mos6MO
The common good to me, means the government making decisions that are beneficial for either all or majority of the public. Although throughout recent elected republican officials they have not shown that they don't make decisions based on the common good.
